I rescued Barkley from an animal shelter the day before he was to be euthanized. His owners had surrendered him because of the fact that he was extremely wild. He was a 6 month old Pit/Boxer mix. Wow! He was wild!! I wrote Diane a very long email about all the things that my dog was doing wrong. Barkley was out of control!!!! Did not listen, chewed everything, dug everything, acted crazy, full of energy, did not mind. Diane and I set up a few training sessions. I learned very quickly that my dog is actually very smart and he responded to training immediately. A lot of the problems I was having with Barkley were not actually Barkley, but me and the way I was handling him. I could not believe that in one session, my dog was so completely different. Ok......correction; he was really the same dog. He did not change at all....I guess I was different and his behavior changed. Before I called Diane, I had used another very well known training business for my other dog and it just had not worked. Not because my dog did not do it....I just did not get it. Anyway, I understood Diane and I found that her methods worked for me and therefore it worked for my dog. He is still high energy and he is still a puppy, but he behaves and he responds to my directives now. Not only does he behave, we have developed a bond that I can't explain. I have had dogs my whole life. I have 5 dogs right now. Before my sessions with Diane, I was actually thinking I may have met the dog that I could not handle and I might have to find him another home. I would call the training I received magical and transforming. Dont take your dogs to the shelter. They will be killed. In Barkley's case that would have been a waste of a precious, sweet, loving friend. That is the case with most dogs. Just call Diane. Call Pet Perfect. JulieHenson
