Firewheel Coffee was established to offer Garland residents an alternative when it comes to coffee and handcrafted espresso beverages. The shop is locally owned, not a franchise, and has a unique atmosphere that only independent ownership permits. How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After working in engineering for thirty years, I finally saved up enough money to start a coffee shop.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer an alternative coffee experience. Our coffee is medium roasted -- not dark roasted -- for a bold flavor without tasting burned or bitter. Our lounge area is spacious and inviting, featuring a large fireplace.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
There is one location, and there are currently no plans to expand. However, I have been asked by several entrepreneurs for permission to build a shop just like mine.

We are located in the Firewheel Plaza shopping center on the southwest corner of George Bush Turnpike (SH 190) and Firewheel Parkway. We are right in front of Party City, next to Firehouse Subs.

We open weekdays at 6:00am, and at 7:00am on Saturday.
